Citizenship ceremonies in Liverpool
This page is for people becoming British citizens in Liverpool. The council writes to you with your date, time and place.
How you book
Do not contact the council first. Your Home Office letter explains the booking steps. The council then writes with your date, time and place, usually within 21 days. Nothing after 21 days, or need another date? Phone the council.
Local dignitaries come to each ceremony, and you can celebrate with family and close friends.

What happens at the ceremony
You make the oath or the affirmation of allegiance to the King, then the pledge to the United Kingdom. At the end you receive your certificate of British citizenship and a welcome pack. You become a British citizen at the ceremony, not before.
