Citizenship ceremonies in Bradford
This page is for people becoming British citizens in Bradford. Group ceremonies are free and take place at City Hall. You fill in an online form after your Home Office letter.
How you book
There is no need to phone. Send the online form when the Home Office letter arrives, and someone from the team will arrange your ceremony within 21 days. The council works through requests in the order the Home Office sends them.
Where ceremonies take place
- City Hall, Centenary Square (Bradford and Keighley Register Office)
A ceremony lasts about 20 to 25 minutes. The Lord Mayor or a local dignitary hands out the certificates, and each new citizen gets a gift.

What happens at the ceremony
You make the oath or the affirmation of allegiance to the King, then the pledge to the United Kingdom. At the end you receive your certificate of British citizenship and a welcome pack. You become a British citizen at the ceremony, not before.
