Citizenship ceremonies in Croydon
This page is for people becoming British citizens in Croydon. The council emails you a booking link after your Home Office invitation. Group ceremonies run every week at the Town Hall.
How you book
Give it 5 working days after your Home Office invitation. The council then emails you a booking link, and you use your Home Office reference to book. No email after those 5 days? Phone the council. The 3 calendar months run from the date on the Home Office letter. If you want a private ceremony, you pick and pay for it online.
How often they run
Ceremonies run every week. Group ceremonies are on Wednesdays at 5pm and 6pm, and sometimes on other weekday evenings or on a Saturday.

What happens at the ceremony
You make the oath or the affirmation of allegiance to the King, then the pledge to the United Kingdom. At the end you receive your certificate of British citizenship and a welcome pack. You become a British citizen at the ceremony, not before.
